Shaina began her career at Spas of Distinction, becoming a top retailer and head therapist. She later worked as assistant manager at a skin clinic in Johannesburg and managed staff at a laser boutique.
After pausing her career to start a family in 2015, she founded Skin Smooth, specialising in electrolysis and laser hair removal. During the pandemic, she offered skill development workshops for beauty professionals. In 2022, she shifted to recruitment for Skin Smooth Beauty Placement while also working as a hair consultant for alopecia clients.
As her recruitment services grew, she focused on that area and relaunched a home-based aesthetic clinic at a new location.

Skin Smooth specific hiring criteria
- All candidates must reside in close proximity to the workplace.
- Experiential hours, mobile work, and part-time roles are not recognized as consistent work experience.
- A minimum of two consecutive years of relevant experience is required for all positions.
- References must be from owners or managers, as we will contact them directly.
Qualification Requirements by Role
- Beauty Therapist: Completion of a two-year course with a diploma.
- Somatologist: Completion of a three-year study program.
- Nail Technicians must possess either a formal qualification in manicures, pedicures, gel, and acrylic applications, or have undergone product house training, subject to the owner’s discretion.
- Educators are required to hold moderator, facilitator, and assessor qualifications.
- Requirements for other positions will be communicated.
