I informed Liesel of a pulled muscle at my shoulder blade and she quickly engaged my therapist, guiding her with skill on how to address the affected area. Needless to say, the massage was amazing. Just enough pressure to release some of the tension without being painful. I felt very relaxed after and could spend a bit more time after my session chatting before hitting the road home. Booked a foot massage for my mom and the staff member who performed the massage was very friendly and professional. My mom enjoyed the foot massage and it was well worth the price.
I had a back-neck-shoulder (BNS) massage on the Ceres Rail Mossel Bay Explorer train trip. Excellent massage. Unbelievable what could be achieved in the limited space on the train. The sounds and smell were like a real spa. Prima!

Experiencing this massage on the Ceres rail journey to Elgin was incredible. I’ve never had a massage with a rolling view before, but it’s an experience I will never forget! I had the 15 minute foot and the 15 minute hand and arm massage (while being sunburnt on the arm) and the massage therapist was so attentive. She constantly asked if the pressure was okay and couldn’t have been better. I would highly recommend and will definitely book again!

What a treat we had on the train journey back from the Elgin market – a lovely relaxing and soothing back massage while the train chugged its way through magnificent scenery. Could not have been a better way to get ourselves ready for the rush of daily living. Liesel and team were professional, competent and friendly, an experience highly recommended.
I recently went through a traumatic ordeal where I suddenly lost my dear brother; needless to say, I suspected that my body was holding onto the trauma. I contacted Liesel of Body Basics and requested a spot for a full-body massage. On arrival we had a brief chat about my areas of concern.
As Liesel proceeded I experienced how my body released the pain. When she targeted the area of concern, her movement of hands was filled with care, compassion, and mindfulness; this resulted in releasing and allowed healing to manifest.
Today I can breathe.

Didn’t expect to find a spa on the train to Elgin. Did the 30 min back , neck and shoulder massage. It was a real bonus to have the tension in my shoulders and neck worked on and an amazing experience to have a massage on a moving train. My daughter had a head massage which was equally great.

It was our 1st experience on Ceres Rail Company and wow, did the Spa personnel make it one of our beat experiences. They were friendly and made you feel relaxed. While they massage you, nice tranquil music is playing and you don’t even have to visualize that you are at the ocean or relaxing place, because you are on a moving train. While you’re with them they have a conversation and make jokes and have no problem with you and wifey taking a photo with them. And oh yes, as they gave me the advice, it’s best to take your massage early on your trip to enjoy the rest of your traveling experience. When they are finish, your body feel relax and renewed. You guys are fantastic and I would recommend you to anyone to experience it for themselves❤️

When I go for massages I do find it very difficult to relax…weird right. I do think it’s because part of the process is to relax and letting go,which was a huge challenge for me . That being said this all changed when I did a full body massage with Body Basics.
The gentle touch and the attentive manner in which the treatment was conducted not only relaxed me ,but to my embarrassment knocked me out ,to the point were I could hear myself snoring;all thanks to a remarkable therapist that completely understood my needs.
